Wayne Eugene Hanson

Wayne’s life began on May 10, 1930, in Herington.  He is the son of Ivar and Florence (Olson) Hanson.  Wayne is a graduate of Diamond Valley High School in Burdick.  He was united in marriage to Nancy Hailey on June 27, 1965, at Hebron Lutheran Church in Burdick.  Wayne was a faithful member of the Hebron Lutheran Church where he served as the Sunday School secretary and served on the cemetery board and church board.  He was a farmer and worked at the Herington Sale Barn for many years.  Wayne also worked as a carpenter and painter for many over the years.  He is survived by his wife of 57-years Nancy Hanson of Burdick; children Allen Hanson of Burdick and Connie (David) Johnson of Burdick; grandchildren Kirsten (Shane) Perez and Kodey (Hana) Johnson; great grandson Kaiman Johnson and sister-in-law Donna Hanson of Herington.  Wayne passed away on December 13, 2022, at Diversacare of Council Grove.  He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Burdette,  and brother Gene Hanson.  His family will gather with friends on Thursday December 22, 2022, from 10-11 a.m. at Hebron Lutheran Church where his memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Bill Neuman and Pastor Devin Wendt.  Wayne will be laid to rest in the cemetery he cared for many years, Hebron Lutheran Church Cemetery.
