MARION – Victoria “Vicki” Melcher, 95, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at St. Luke Living Center of Marion. She was a farm wife and homemaker. She was born February 4, 1920, the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Konarik) Klenda. She was raised in the Pilsen community and attended school there. On February 21, 1938, she was united in marriage to Emil Melcher, he preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded by two sisters: Josephine Kroupa and Ruth Kroupa. She is survived by her two daughters: Ruth Mersmann and her husband Lawrence of Walnut Creek, California; and Rose Vinduska of Marion; 7 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. All services will be held at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Marion, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, the Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at 1:45 p.m., at the Pilsen Cemetery. A Memorial Fund has been established for the Fr. Kapaun Legacy Fund in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.
