MARION - Sylvia C. Winchester, age 90, passed away December 19, 2016, at Comfort Care Homes in Newton, Kansas. She was born August 29, 1926, in Latimer, Kansas. She was the daughter of Walter and Stella (Buethe) Tiede. She was a graduate of Herington High School. On December 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Steve R. Winchester. She was an prepared income tax returns. She also had owned and operated a shoe store and a donut shop. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve Winchester, a son John Clarence Winchester, son-in-law Jim Goddard; and 4 siblings. She is survived by her daughter Belita Goddard of Newton; her son Bob Winchester and his wife Karen of Newton; 4 grandchildren: Robin Stukey and her husband Gregg of Newton, Steve Goddard and his wife Nancy of Newton, Michelle Slabach and her husband Troy of Newton, and Clint Winchester and his wife Kris of Andover; 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Thursday from 9 am, until service time. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Funds have been established for Good Shepherd Hospice or Comfort Care Home of Harvey County, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.
