Stan’s life began on April 4, 1953, in Neodesha, Kansas.  He is the son of Warren and Helen (Dannels) Wiles.  Stan was a graduate of Altoona Midway High School and earned his education degree at Emporia State Teachers College.  He enjoyed a 28-year career as the physical education teacher at Centre Schools and he also spent three years teaching at Hamilton Schools.  Stan served as the golf coach, track coach, basketball coach, weightlifting coach and as a part of the football coaching staff.  He was an active part of the Rock Island Church and after retirement worked at Barnes Heartland Foods in Herington.  He was married to Deb Knipp on August 6, 1983, and she survives him in Ramona.  Also surviving Stan is his brother Steve (Carolyn) Wiles of Lawrence and several nieces and nephews.  Stan passed away at his home on July 28, 2023.  Family and friends will gather on Saturday August 5, 2023, from 9:00- 10:30 a.m. at the Centre School Football Stadium for sharing memories and visitation.  His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the school led by his wife Deb.  He will be laid to rest at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington is serving the family.  Memorial contributions in Stan’s name may be directed to the Centre School Athletic Fund, Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County or the Rock Island Church.  Please sign his online guestbook and leave a memory of Stan at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
