Ruth Elaine Bond

Ruth’s life began in rural Shady Brook outside of Herington on August 10, 1934. She was the daughter of Robert Carl and Selma Magdline (Peters) Schlesener. Ruth attended school at Shady Brook school. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Shady Brook and was a homemaker. Ruth was united in marriage to Nola (John) Ezra Bond, Jr. on December 26, 1957, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children Mary Boardman of McPherson, Debby Gustafson of Hutchinson, and John (Eva) Bond of Clay Center; grandchildren Jeff Carlson, Jenny (Josh) Foote, Kylee Kimbrough and AJ Bond and several great grandchildren. Ruth passed away on Saturday April 12, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hutchinson Village. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday April 16, 2025, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home at 2 p.m. for her funeral service. She will be laid to rest in Immanuel Lutheran Shady Brook Cemetery.
