HERINGTON - Rudolph A. “Rudy” Corona, 64, lifelong resident of Herington, died Sunday evening December 6th, 2015, at Salina. He was born on December 10, 1950, at Herington, the son of Samuel and Antonia (Mesa) Corona.
Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, December 10th, 2015, at the St. John’s Catholic Church, Herington, with Father Soosaimari “Soosai” Rathinam officiating; military honors will follow. A Rosary will precede the service at 10:30AM at the church; and Mr. Corona will lie in state from 10AM Thursday also at the church.
Mr. Corona was retired Union Pacific Conductor. He was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church, Herington. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1969.
Survived by a daughter Darcy Davis (husband-Jim) of Herington; son Mario Corona of Tioga, ND; brother Ralph Corona of Salina; three (3) sisters: Dolores “Lola” Vasquez of Wichita, Elvira “Chepa” Lewis of Topeka, and Estella of North Carolina; six (6) grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by a brother David Corona, and his parents.
