Richard Glenn Schaffer

Richard Schaffer of Marion passed away November 15, 2021, at the age of 81. He was born February 7, 1940, near La Crosse, Kansas. His parents were Alex and Rosalia (Legleiter) Schaffer. He was the youngest of ten children. He attended the elementary and high school in La Crosse, then joined the Navy. While in the military for four years, he served at Adak, Alaska and Nicosed, Cyprus.

On August 31, 1964, he married Mary Virginia Kreutzer in La Crosse. He later went to college and graduated from KU as a Physical Therapist. He practiced Physical Therapy for 35 years. He leaves behind his wife Mary Virginia, a son Kevin and wife Rhonda and a daughter Loreen Gates, granddaughters Melanie Garrett, Mackenzie Dinstel, Allison Birklid and great grandson Aren Dinstel.
