Pamela Kay Harber, 73, passed away on January 31 surrounded by family. She was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will always be remembered as a true champion of those whose lives she touched.
Born January 11, 1952, in Hutchinson, KS she grew up adventuring the Kansas countryside with her siblings and cousins. She attended KU earning her degree in education and later Emporia State University for a master’s degree in library science.
Known for her warmth, wisdom, creativity and compassion she took to her role as an educator and librarian with aplomb, sharing her deep love of reading and theater with thousands of students throughout her 40-year career starting in Osage City and ending at Remington High School.
Pam is survived by her husband Robert Harber of Whitewater, KS, her son Lucas, daughter-in-law Kim and granddaughter Sadie of Kechi, KS, and her daughter Elaine, son-in-law Scott Davis and grandsons Max and Rafe of Tulsa, OK, her brother and sister-in-law Scott and Judi Foster and sister-in-law Lana Foster of Abbyville, KS, and brother-in-law Ali Halabi of El Dorado, KS. Pam was preceded in death by her beloved parents Darrel and Elaine Foster and brother Gary Foster of Abbyville, KS and her sister Patricia Halabi of El Dorado, KS.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held Feb. 8 at Grace Hill Mennonite Church at 10:00 a.m. and attendees are welcome to share stories and memories about our dearest Pam during the service. A graveside service at the Neal Cemetery in Neal, KS will follow.
A visitation will be held at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater, KS on Feb. 7 5-7 p.m.
We will love her forever and like her for always.
