During High School, Naomi worked at the Herington Cooperative Grocery Store and continued to work there on a full-time basis after graduation.  Naomi’s father also worked at the Cooperative Grocery and later bought the Scofield Market on W. Main St. in 1941.  She retired from the grocery store in 1960.  Naomi was united in marriage to Norman H. Snyder on January 9, 1946, after he returned from active duty in the South Pacific.  The couple lived most of their lives in Herington except for a brief time in 1954 when Norman was sent to Pacoima, CA with the Rock Island Railroad.  Naomi loved to travel with Norman and together they visited Mexico, Canada, Italy and most memorable, their trip to Hawaii.  Naomi was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and at one time taught Sunday School, Bible history, catechism, and recorded communion records for twenty-five years.  Naomi had a beautiful flower garden in her back yard and loved to decorate their home.  She had been active in the Order of the Eastern Star many years ago and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Social Order of the Beauceant.  Naomi is survived by nieces Michelle Grimes of Hutchinson and Paula (Max) Morgan of Ramona and nephew Mike (Janet) McCoy of Crowley, TX and numerous other nieces and nephews.  Naomi passed away on Saturday August 5, 2023, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Donna Cott and Mona Kuether.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday August 9, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington.  Her funeral service will be held on Thursday August 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church.  She will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Naomi at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
