Nancy L. Lewis

Nancy’s life began on September 19, 1942, in Newton. She was the daughter of David Theodore and Elizabeth Ellen (Hilt) Fegley. Nancy graduated high school in Lafayette, Indiana and attended business school in Indiana. She returned to Kansas and attended beauty school in Sedgwick. Nancy was united in marriage to James E. Lewis, who preceded her in death and later to Russell F. Lewis, who also preceded her in death. Nancy was the owner and operator of the Beauty Barn in Whitewater for many years and later worked in accounting in Wichita. She was a member of the Federated Church in Whitewater. Nancy enjoyed quilting with her quilting clubs. She is survived by her children Scott (Vicki) Lewis of Elbing and Frank Lewis of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren Amanda Lewis, Amber (Larry) Lago, Cole (Paige) Lewis, Connor Lewis, Toby Lewis, and Brody Lewis; great grandchildren Addlie, Josslyn, and Parker and several nieces and nephews. Nancy passed away on Thursday March 27, 2025, at Wheatstate Manor in Whitewater. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and sister Patricia Despard. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday April 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Federated Church in Whitewater for her memorial service. She will be laid to rest in Sunnydale Cemetery, Valley Center in a private ceremony. Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater is serving the family.
