Michael Steven Wangerin

HERINGTON - Michael Steven Wangerin, 61, of Herington; departed this life Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at his home in Herington.  He was born July 2nd, 1955, the son of Bobby Dean and Delores L. (Biegert) Wangerin.  

A celebration of life service will be 1:00PM, Saturday, April 15th, 2017, at the Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, with Rev. Ruth Ann Jones, officiating.  There will be a private inurnment at the Sunset Hill Cemetery at a later date.

He was the first employee of CMF and worked there until four years ago when he retired.  His hobbies were fishing, woodworking, and gardening vegetables and flowers.  He loved his grandkids and spending time with them.

 He is preceded in death by two brothers David and Bobby Wangerin, a sister Carolyn Sue Parr, and his father.

He married Michelle M. Wooldridge on December 2nd, 1977, at Abilene, and she survives at the home in Herington.  He is also survived by his mother Delores Wangerin; a son Shawn Wangerin and his wife Amber of Council Grove; a daughter Stephanie Wangerin and companion David McLeod of Herington; a brother Rusty Wangerin (wife-Jennifer) of Salina; ten grandchildren Veronica Carlson, Chris and Abby McLeod, Jace and Cameron Svitak, Brooklyn, Destiny, and Allecia Wangerin, Dominic Stover, and Connor Garver; nephews and nieces Christopher and Liz Wangerin, Jennifer Wangerin, Amaria, Aidan, and Colton Wangerin.

Memorials are to the Michael Wangerin Grandchildren Scholarship Fund; and may be sent to Zeiner Funeral Home, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
