Maxine Ann Humbarger

Maxine’s life began on November 25, 1937, in Wichita.  She is the daughter of Elmer and Lois (Sharff) Martin.  Maxine was united in marriage to Phillip Humbarger, and they enjoyed nearly 67 years of marriage. 

Maxine owned and operated the Mode Day Ladies Wear and Fashion Crossroads store for 18 years.  She had many varied hobbies including being an avid golfer and traveling to nearly all the states to play golf with Phillip.  Maxine was a talented baker creating cookies, cakes, pies and treats that were too good to ever pass up.  She also enjoyed making beautiful items of plastic canvas.  Most people in Lemoore remember Maxine as the “Lock Smith” lady.  She and Phillip ran a successful locksmith business, Phil's Locksmithing, for many years in Lemoore too.

Maxine passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2023, at Adventist Health in Hanford, CA.  She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Phillip of Lemoore and many wonderful friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents and two daughters.  Her family will gather with friends on Saturday September 16, 2023, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m.  Her graveside service will begin after visitation at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Maxine at www.yazelmeglifh.com
