Mary Elizabeth Hartwick

Mary’s life began on January 24, 1935, in Towanda, KS.  She is the daughter of Harold and Hazel (Pyle) Hull.  Mary graduated in 1953 from Towanda High School and on June 14, 1953, was united in marriage to Philip Hartwick. The couple celebrated their 70^th wedding anniversary this year.  Mary worked as a bookkeeper in Whitewater at Roxy’s Florist and Beauty Salon.  She was a member of the Federated Church in Whitewater and the church organist for over 40 years.  Mary also served on the Whitewater Memorial Library board for many years.  She is survived by her husband Philip of Whitewater; children Pam Hartwick of Whitewater, Christine (Monty) Schroeder of Whitewater, Sandi Jenkinson of Whitewater, and Roger (LeeAnn) Hartwick of Lawrence; grandchildren Jennifer Schroeder, Christopher Hartwick, Stephanie Hartwick, Kyle Hartwick, Amy Hartwick, Marty Jenkinson, Kaci (Daniel) Anderson, Lydia Hartwick, and Lora Hartwick; and great-grandchildren Braxton, Owen, and Paige.  Mary passed away on Saturday September 9, 2023, at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.  She is preceded in death by her parents,  two brothers Loren and Paul Hull, and three sons Terry, Steve, and Brad Hartwick.  Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.  Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Federated Church, Whitewater.  Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Federated Church.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Mary at www.yazelmeglifh.com
