Mary Ann Brown

HERINGTON - Mary Ann (Donahue) Brown, 73, died Thursday morning, February 25th, 2016, at the Herington Municipal Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.  She was born on July 17th, 1942, at Hillsboro, the daughter of Edward E. and M. Ernestine “Teen” (Yancey) Donahue.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 29th, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bill Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday, at the Zeiner Funeral Home – Herington Chapel from 5pm until 7pm.

She began working in the mid-sixties as a telephone operator and retired from Fort Riley in 2010 as personnel management specialist.  She was a past Worthy Matron of Esther Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Esther Club, both of Herington.  She was a member of the D.A.R. of Council Grove, and past president of N.A.R.F.  She was sales representative for AVON over forty years.  She graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1960.

She is survived by a daughter Bobbi Ann Korgol (husband-Kyle), four (4) granddaughters: Haley Holzhauser, Emma Holzhauser, Elli Korgol, Kyla Korgol, two (2) brothers: Vance Donahue (wife-Karen) and Wm. “Bill” Donahue (wife-Kellie Jo) all of Herington.  She is also survived by her longtime companion of 27 years, Duane “Bud” Biehler of Herington and families of his sons Tim, Steve, Brad, Chris, and Ron Biehler, her extended family Amy G. Dinsmore (husband-Jim) and half-sisters Jennifer Sullivan, all of Monett, MO, Amy Bucy of Harrisonville, MO,  and a half-brother Joe Donahue of Gothenburg, NE.

She is preceded in death by her son Timothy R. Maybee on August 2, 1982, and her parents.
