MARION - Marjorie B. Bauman Sandwell, age 93, passed away September 6, 2016, at St. Luke Living Center, Marion. She was born in Logan Township, Marion County, Kansas, on April 15, 1923. She was the daughter of Alvin A. and Edna Mae (Decker) Unruh. On February 17, 1944, she was united in marriage to John Bauman, Jr., he passed away January 17, 1976. She later would marry Ed R. Sandwell on August 18, 1984, he also preceded her in death on June 27, 2004. Marjorie was a homemaker, enjoyed crafting especially mosaics, and was a fabulous cook. She was a member of Valley United Methodist Church, active in the United Methodist Women, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Clayton and Robert Unruh. She is lovingly survived by her children: Linda Zadow and her husband Charles of O'Fallon, Missouri; and John D. "JD" Bauman of Marion; a step-son John Sandwell and his wife Judy of Evansville, Indiana; siblings: James Unruh and wife Georgia of Canton; Cleason Unruh of Wilsonville, Oregon; and LeAnna Minear of Marion; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2016, at Valley United Methodist Church, Marion. Inurnment will be in the Marion Cemetery. Memorial Funds have been established for Valley United Methodist Church or St. Luke Living Center in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm Street, Marion, KS, 66861.
