Lothar’s life began on December 6, 1929, in Tampa, KS. He was the son of Gustav C. and Charlotte (Winter) Maaser. Lothar was a 1946 graduate of Tampa High School. He served his country in the United States Army for over 20 years in the infantry as a tank driver. Lothar loved to hunt, load black powder ammunition and collect guns. He was a life member of the NRA. He is survived by his sister Helen Benson of Lee Summit, MO; three nephews Eric Benson of St. Louis, Karl Benson of Portland, OR and Bruno Maaser of France. Lothar passed away on Wednesday October 20, 2021, at Hillsboro Community Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Otto, Bruno and Kurt. His family will gather with friends on Saturday October 23rd from 10-11 a.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tampa where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Clark Davis. He will be laid to rest with military honors in the Lutheran Cemetery, Tampa. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion is serving the family.
