Linda Dianne James

Herington - Linda Dianne James departed this life on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the Salina Regional Health Center. She was the oldest child of Leonard and Bernadine (Siegrist) Albrecht.  She was born December 1, 1955, in Herington.  She had two younger sisters, Lois and Donna, and brother, Neil.  She grew up in Herington and graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1973.

Following high school graduation, she went to work at the Lutheran Home as a dishwasher.  She rose through the ranks to nurse aid, and to med aid.  After being a med aid she decided to return to school  and attended Flint Hills Vocational School where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate.  She worked at several care facilities; Lutheran Home, Enterprise Estates, Brookdale of Abilene, and at the Herington Area Health Clinic retiring in January of 2018.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Neil Albrecht on August 24, 2018, a sister, Lois Gentz on November 1, 2002, and her father on July 2, 1991.

Linda is survived by her son, William James (fiancé-Jennifer) of Colorado Springs,CO; Jennifer’s children, Zelda, Cailyn, Theo; her mother, Bernadine Albrecht of Herington; a sister, Donna Staatz of Herington; sister in law, Jolene Albrecht of Salina; brother in law, Kevin Gentz of Herington; a special friend, Stephen King of California; her nieces and nephews, Dustin Gentz, Katey Staatz, Aaron Staatz, Kallie Albrecht, Morgan Albrecht, and Landon Albrecht.

Family will greet friends at the St. John Lutheran Church of Lyons Creek, 1:00 -1:45pm, Thursday, January 17, 2019.  Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Mark Lovett, officiating.  Graveside service will be in the church cemetery.  Musician for the service is Melody Williams and the pallbearers are Dustin Gentz, Kenny Staatz, Jeremy Obermeyer,Gary Humbarger, Richard Humbarger, and Mark Humbarger.
