LaVerne Mosiman

LaVerne (Merritt – Kitterman) Mosiman,90, passed away June 10,  2015, at Newton Medical Center, Newton, Kansas.  She was born March 12, 1925, at Ava, Missouri; the daughter of Jesse and Grace (Hilton) Merritt.  On May 15, 1942, she married Merrill S. Kitterman, he was killed serving our country June 6, 1943.  To this union was born a son, Merrill Samuel Jr.  On June 29, 1946, LaVerne was married to Irvin C. Mosiman.  LaVerne worked at Beech Aircraft for a short while, and worked at The Bank of Whitewater for 43 years, retiring in 1987.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Merrill and Irvin; son, Sam; grandson, Sam; granddaughter, Ginger; and brother, Herman.  She is lovingly survived by son, Roger of Halstead; daughter, Joann and husband of Whitewater; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Kitterman of Wichita.  Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.  Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015; at Federated Church, Whitewater.  A memorial fund has been established for Federated Church in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater, KS  67154.
