Bear’s life began on February 3, 1964, in Marion. He was the son of Bud and Tressie (Miles) Kelsey. Bear graduated from Hillsboro High School in the class of 1983. He had been employed with the county and state road commission, Marion city water plant, drove truck, welded and worked construction throughout his working life. Bear enjoyed going fishing. He is survived by his parents Bud and Tressie Kelsey of Marion, brother Scott (Deena) Kelsey of Hillsboro, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Bear passed away on Monday September 16, 2024 at Newton Medical Center. The family is planning a private graveside service led by Pastor Carl Helm at the Walton Cemetery in the near future. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family and memorial contributions in Bear’s name may be directed to the Marion Christian Church.
