MARION - Judith “Earlene” Petty Chilcott, age 68, was born February 26, 1947, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, of proud Cherokee heritage. She was the daughter of Alvin and Leah (Beck) Kilgore. She attended El Dorado public schools, and was a graduate of Cassoday High School. She was an accomplished hair dresser and salon operator for many years while being a single mother raising her daughter, Tresha. In 1976, she was married to Bobby Petty who adopted Tresha and became her Dad. Earlene and Bobby moved to Marion County Lake where Earlene was a crappie fishing expert. Earlene was also an accomplished bowler, WIBC Official, and worked many years in the nursing profession in both Hillsboro and Marion. Bobby passed away in 1995. Earlene later married long-time friend Ed Chilcott. They enjoyed running their business Kettle Krackers, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Earlene passed away September 17, 2015, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion, Kansas. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Ed of Marion; her daughter, Tresha Hoover and husband Lance of Salina; step-children: Terry Chilcott and wife Lisa of Wichita; and Tami Peimbert and husband Alberto of Columbus, Ohio; grandsons: Jayme, Trent and Cole Hoover, Alex Peimbert, and Levi Houston; and a granddaughter, Lauren Peimbert. Visitation with family will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, at Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2015, at the Marion Christian Church. Interment will be in the Marion Cemetery. A Memorial Fund has been established for the St. Luke Patient Fund in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.
