John’s life began on February 16, 1959 in Tennessee. He was the son of Charles and Lottie (Yarborough) Swaim. John was united in marriage to Cheryl Lininger on August 19, 1996 in Hope, KS. He was a carpenter and contractor working for Ander’s Construction. John loved to fish at the Geary State Park Fishing Lake and was always on the go. He did a lot of home improvement projects around the house, even if they were not always finished. John was a family man and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Cheryl New of White City; daughter Aimee (Mike) Jones of Newton; grandchildren Jane, Eve, Samantha, Aurora (Caleb), Brianna, Cynthia, David, Elisha, Jenavieve (Joseph) , Hunter and Zoey; and his siblings Emmitt , Jerry , Charlie , Dorothy , Viola , Mary , Mildred and Nancy. John passed away at his White City home on Friday September 6, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Josey Denny and Kathern New and his brother Mike New.
