Joe Phillip Fitzmaurice

Joe's life began on June 13, 1954, in Wichita.  He was the son of Robert "Rocky" and Velma Rae (Cannon) Fitzmaurice.  Before his health declined, Joe worked as a painter for the Wichita Board of Education and for several other people.  He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Fitzmaurice who preceded him in death in 2007.  Joe's grandkids were the bright light in his life.  His loving family includes his children Sonny Bohannan of Ark City, and Shelly (Jason) Stika of Lincolnville; grandchildren Cody (Courtney) Oswald, Dalton Stika, Jaycee Stika, Renee Bohannan, and Sunshine Bohannan; siblings Mary Jane Morrison of Marion, Julie (John) McMillan of Klamath Falls, OR, Rusty (Dan) Love of Lincolnville and Jim Fitzmaurice of Lincolnville and several nieces and nephews.  Joe passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Legacy of Herington.  In addition to his wife, Joe is preceded by his parents and brother John Fitzmaurice. Graveside services have been postponed for now due to inclement weather. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion is serving the family.
