Jesse R. Hudgens

WICHITA - Jesse R. Hudgens, 93, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, at St. Luke Living Center of Marion, Kansas.  He was born in Carrollton, Missouri, February 15, 1922, the son of Jesse R. and Thelma (Oliver) Hudgens.  He proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Navy.  On November 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Swan, she preceded him in death on October 7, 1992.  He was also preceded by an infant grandson, Jacob Hudgens.  He is survived by his son, Bradley Hudgens of Wichita; a sister, Beatrice Doughtry and her husband Billy Bob of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; 2 grandsons:  Jeremy Hudgens and Joshua Hudgens; and a great-grandson, Jacob.  Visitation with family will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.  A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Marion Cemetery.  A Memorial Fund has been established for the Disabled American Veterans in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St, Marion, KS, 66861.
