WHITEWATER - Jerry L. Potter, age 75, passed away November 17, 2016, at Via Christi - St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. Born August 10, 1941, he was the second of seven children born of Lloyd and Geneva Imogene (Henson) Potter. He graduated from Whitewater High School with the class of 1959. He attended Butler Community College. On December 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Gehring. He was a farmer. He proudly served his country with the United States Army. He was a founding member of the Centre Point Church in Whitewater. He was preceded in death by his father, and siblings: Barbara, Richard, and Donald Potter. He is survived by his wife Mary of Whitewater; daughters: Darla "Dede" Roberts and her husband Michael of Greensboro, North Carolina; Kristi Sommers and her husband Jim of Potwin; and Mindy Hill and her husband Darryl of Whitewater; his mother Imogene Potter of Augusta; brothers: Charles and wife Marilyn of Mt. Airy, Maryland; Robert and wife Charlotte of Towanda; and Bill Potter of Selma, Alabama; a sister-in-law Wanda Potter of Furley; 6 grandchildren: Chelsea, Shanna, Travis, Weston, Cole and Taylor; 2 great-grandchildren: Iris and Lily; and his "fourth" daughter Diane Schrader and her husband Calvin and their family of Lenexa. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Saturday, at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the Whitewater Community Church. Interment will follow at Green Valley Cemetery. A Memorial Fund has been established for the Centre Point Church, in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.
