Jan Smith

LINCOLNVILLE – Janet D. “Jan” Smith, age 66, passed away March 24, 2016, at St. Luke Living Center of Marion, Kansas.  She was born September 27, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Frank H. and Irene D. (Kos) Werner.  On July 3, 1971, she was united in marriage to Phillip Smith.  Their marriage was blessed with 3 children:  Amy, Mark, and Jesse.  She worked for 17 years at the Marion County Courthouse in the appraiser’s office and  the clerk’s office.  She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Werner.  She is survived by her husband Phil Smith of Lincolnville; her children:  Amy and husband Brad Pagenkopf of Lost Springs; Mark and wife Lori Smith of Lincolnville; and Jesse Smith and wife Ashton of Pilsen; her mother Irene Werner of Marion; her siblings:  Frank Werner of Marion; and Kathryn Werner of New York; and 4 grandchildren:  Braden Pagenkopf, Garhett Pagenkopf, Elizabeth Smith and Sydney Smith. 

Visitation with family will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.  The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Burdick United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow in the Lincolnville Cemetery.  A Memorial Fund has been established for the Burdick United Methodist Church, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm,.
