Ira I. Penner

MARION - Ira I. Penner, 94, passed away on November 9, 2015, at St. Luke Living Center, Marion.  He was born January 18, 1921, at Hillsboro, the son of Bernard and Anna (Wiens) Penner. He served his country during WWII, with the United States Navy.  He was a farmer in the Marion area.  On June 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ruth Jo Willming.  They made their home south of town, in retirement they moved into Marion.  They were members of the Valley United Methodist Church.  Ira was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jo; and his siblings:  Victor Penner, Mary Ann Peters, Alice Hummel, Frieda Penner, and Katherine Flippen.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and his church family.  Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2015, at Valley United Methodist Church.  Private Inurnment in the Marion Cemetery.  Memorial Funds have been established for Valley United Methodist Church or the Marion City Library, in c/o Zeiner Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Marion, KS, 66861.  Condolences may be left at:  www.zeinerfuneralhome@eaglecom.net.
