Harold Dean Triggs

Harold Dean Triggs was born on September 23, 1934, to his parents Jess and Mary (Jackson) Triggs in Florence, KS. Harold lived almost his entire life in Marion County. On May 3, 1958, Harold and Chloe Ann Trayer were married. Their union lasted for three weeks short of fifty years. His career included Postmaster in both Lincolnville and Florence. Harold and Chloe raised their children in the Florence First Christian Church and the Lincolnville United Methodist Church most of their lives. He was a man of faith. Harold enjoyed playing any card game, which always included teasing and laughing. There was no sport he wouldn’t watch with great interest and attended every ball game of his children. Harold was an avid coon hunter, winning a multitude of tournaments and honors throughout his life. Harold’s sense of humor was always his badge of honor. At the age of 89, Harold Dean Triggs passed away on August 1, 2024, in Vancouver, WA. . He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Chloe, second wife Ginny Peterson, and sister Wilma Waner. Harold is survived by his daughters Rev. Dr. Sherry (Cherelle) Triggs of Longview, WA, Kerry (Bill) Toews of Burrton and Tom (Andrea) Triggs of Jackson, MS; grandchildren Mindy (Jake) Brunker, Katie Maag, and Adam (Hannah) Maag and great grandchildren MaKenzie, Brody, Henry, Mila, and Maven. Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday with a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.  Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion is serving the family.
