HERINGTON - Gladys P. Albrecht, 88, of rural Herington, died Sunday morning, June 5th, 2016, at The Legacy of Herington. She was born on September 16, 1927, at Carlton, the daughter of Christian H. and Antoinette (Guthals) Gantenbein.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, June 8th, 2016, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington, with Pastor Bill Peterson officiating; burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
Mrs. Albrecht was a farm wife. She was a long time member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She taught in a one room school for two years, and then worked as a dental assistance for Doctor Harry Mosier where she met her future husband to be. She graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1945.
She married Arthur O. “Chic” Albrecht, on August 8, 1948, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church; and he preceded in death on June 14, 2014. She is also preceded in death by her daughter: Phyllis Minge on January 13, 1997, and a brother Vincent Gantenbein.
Survived by two (2) sons: Keith Albrecht (wife-Julie) of Herington, and Kenneth Albrecht (wife-Nancy) of Lawrence; five (5) grandchildren; and nine (9) great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Herington; and they may be sent to the Zeiner Funeral Home - Herington Chapel, 404 S Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
