MARION – Gerald W. “Jerry” Cady, age 76, passed away October 10, 2015, at Newton Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1939, near Scottsville, Kansas, the son of Gerald R. and Loretta V. (Grennan) Cady, they would later move to Beloit. He was a 1958 graduate of St. John’s High School in Beloit. On May 31, 1959, he married Donna Willett at Beloit. This union was blessed with 4 children: Laurie, Jeff, Brian and Brad. In 1990, they moved to Marion, and he established the Jerry Cady Agency. Donna passed away September 19, 1992. He later married Enid (Thiessen) Jost on August 5, 1995. This marriage would bring 3 more children into Jerry’s life: Chris, Carla and Carey. Jerry served on the Beloit High School Board of Education, had been an officer of the Beloit Elks Lodge, was active at the St. John’s Catholic Church of Beloit, and later the Holy Family Parish of Marion County. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna; and a granddaughter Alison Cady. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Enid Cady of Marion; children: Laurie Holub (Pat) of Marion; Jeff Cady (Theresa) of Bennington; Brian Cady(Miki) of Derby; and Brad Cady of Marion; step-children: Chris Jost (Debra Martin) of Penrose, CO; Carla Longmeyer (Jamey) of Longmont, CO; and Carey Jost (Lorri) of Haysville; 6 siblings; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St. John Nepomucene Church of Pilsen, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, and the Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, at St. John’s Cemetery of Beloit.
