Elizabeth Johnson

August 30, 1955 — December 1, 2021

Liz’s life began on August 30, 1955, in Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Robert and Esther (Liggett) Bowen. Liz enjoyed being outside working in her garden, planting flowers and plants. She also enjoyed camping with her children at Marion Co. Lake when she was young. Her passion was healthcare. Liz enjoyed caring for her patients and would volunteer for the various events for them to attend. She also provided them with a garden to enjoy. She loved putting puzzles together, playing cards and she especially loved shopping. Liz loved spending the weekends with her grandchildren. Liz is survived by and deeply missed by her children Jeremy (Cyndi) Bowen of Cedar Point, Nikki Carr of Wichita, and Ashley Johnson of Colorado; grandchildren Devon and Tyler Leroy, Destiny Carr, Tristin, Gage and Travis Stephens; step grandchildren Jayda and Jessi Hayes; great grandson Lucas Leroy; her siblings Mary Lou (James) Cogdill of Marion, Nancy Shanklin of Florence, Dan (Janet) Bowen of Moundridge, Sonny Bowen of Alamogordo, NM, and Gertrude Maulm of Goessel; and her best friend since fourth grade Melodee King of Rosehill. Liz passed away on December 1, 2021, at Salem Home in Hillsboro. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers John and Phil Bowen. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday December 11, 2021, at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion for her memorial service.
