Eldon A. Schlesener

HOPE - Eldon Albert Schlesener, 72, of Hope, departed this life, Thursday, Apr. 7th, 2016, at Junction City. He was born on June 29th, 1943, at Abilene, the son of Gustav H. and Hulda A. (Voeltz) Schlesener.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, Apr. 12th, 2016, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shady Brook, with Rev. Walter Gilkey, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery of Herington.  A family visitation will be 7:00 pm, Monday, Apr. 11th, 2016, at Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, with a visitation following.

Mr. Schlesener retired in 2012.  He worked at the Herington Sale Barn from 1996-2008.  He graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1961.  He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He had served on the Church Finance Board.  He married Bonnie A. Luhman on Aug. 12, 1972, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2008.  He is also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a son Mark Schlesener (wife-Jamie) of Hope; two daughters Melinda Schroeder (husband-Doug) of Fayetteville, AR, Angela Schlesener of Frontenac; a sister Janice Huffman (husband-Louis) of Spearfish, SD; seven grandchildren: Jordan, Meghan, Morgan, Charles, Nicholas, Dominique, and Victor.
