Dorothy Mae Thouvenell

Dorothy’s life began on September 25, 1926, the daughter of Walter and Jerlean (Stewart) Graham in Granite City, Illinois. She graduated from Missouri State School of the Deaf and married Vernon Albert Thouvenell on May 11, 1957 in Missouri. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked for restaurants as a dishwasher. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and her family.

 Her family includes her sons and their wives, Jack and Gina Thouvenell of Irving, Texas, Jerry and Sheila Thouvenell of Hillsboro; daughter, Jennifer Cates of Blue Springs, Missouri; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon in 1987; brother, Bill Graham and a granddaughter, Kandi Thouvenell and son in law Daniel Cates.  Dorothy passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2019, having reached the age of 93 years old.

 Her family will gather on Saturday, October 12, from 12 noon - 2:00 p.m. with her service following at 2:00 p.m. both at Yazel-Megli-Zeiner Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Josh Wesner of Emmanuel Baptist of Marion officiating.
