Donna Marie Krause

Donna Marie Krause was born west of Latimer, February 25, 1938, to Paul F. and Hildegard Emilie (Tiede) Krause.  She was baptized on March 18, 1938, at the Zion Lutheran Churchin Latimer.  She had two brothers, Paul J. Krause who went by Junior, and a younger brother,  Roger.  She was confirmed on May 18, 1952, by Rev. Otto Mueller, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Donna graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1956.  She worked at the Duckwall’s  Store in Herington (currently,  the local drug store) from 1956 until 1981.  She went to work in Junction City at Alco from 1981 - 1992.  She worked two years in Herington at the Dreilings Department Store before retiring.  She was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

The death of brother, Paul J. Krause, on October 27, 1984, was unexpected.  Donna became very close and protective of her parents. She was preceded in death by her father in October 1991, and her mother in December of 1998.  She was a loving and devoted daughter.  She supported her mother with the care of her father and she cared for her mother to the very end.

Remembering her devotion to her parents, her brother, Roger, and his son, Matthew were as kind and caring to her. She is survived by brother, Roger Krause of Herington; 3 nephews, Matthew Krause (Elizabeth) of Solomon, Robert Krause of Kansas,  Kevin Krause of Kentucky; two nieces, Karen Jo Krause of Kansas, Julie Morris (Larry) of Kentucky; two great nephews; Logan and Spencer Krause, five other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10:00am, Monday, July 22, 2019, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery- Herington, with Rev. Mark Lovett, officiating. The casket bearers for the service will be Larry Tiede, Jayce Krause, Alan, Rock, Jacob Riffel, Sam Riffel, and Russell Riffel.
