Delano L. "Del" McKay

POTWIN - Delano L. "Del" McKay, 83, passed away August 20, 2016, at Lakepoint Nursing Home of El Dorado.  He was born April 12, 1933, the son of Clifford “Bud” and Vera McKay.  He served with the United States Army during the Korean War.  On July 24, 1954, he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Jackson.  He was a Machine Tool Service Repairman, owning his own repair shop.  He was preceded by wife his Betty in 2002; and an uncle that was instrumental with his upbringing, Harold McKay.  He is survived by his children: Shirley Deines and her husband George of Lanagan, Missouri; Roger McKay of Potwin; Dan McKay of Wichita; Paul McKay of Potwin; Clifford McKay of Potwin; Cynthia Wilson and her husband Greg of El Dorado; and Luke McKay and his wife Ginny of Colorado Springs, Colorado; numerous siblings, 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  A Graveside Service will be held at  2:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016, at Union Cemetery, rural Benton.  A Memorial Fund has been established for the Potwin Library in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.  Online Condolences may be left at:  www.zeinerfuneralhomes.com.
