Deborah Lejune Navrat died on December 16, 2023, at Hutchison Regional Medical Center. She died after fighting pneumonia and heart failure. Deborah was born on February 22, 1952, in Marion at St. Luke’s Hospital to Harold and Maxine (Gillespie) Bell. She was welcomed by her brother Rick and sister Cheri. Deborah attended Marion grade and high school and graduated in 1970. After graduation, she moved to Olathe with her parents. Deborah worked for Puritan while in Olathe. In 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Navrat, and they moved to Anchorage, Alaska while Ron served in the Air Force. While in Alaska, she enjoyed the scenery and worked part time with her husband at Jackson Janitorial, cleaning banks after hours. During her time off, Deborah enjoyed camping with her husband. Camping when the lake was frozen hard enough to drive a car across was a sight to see. Camping also meant grilling steaks over an open fire and watching the Alaskan sun setting at 11 p.m. Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, brother James, and sister Cheri, and niece Tammy. She is survived by her husband Ronald, her brother Richard of Newton, sister-in-law Ardith, and nephews Chris of Shawnee Mission and Mike of Colorado. Her family will gather with friends at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Marion on Saturday December 23, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Pilsen Cemetery. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. Luke’s Living Center.
