Cynthia’s life began November 14, 1946, in Wichita. She is the daughter of Wesley Ward White and Florence (Rindt) White. She is a 1964 graduate of Centre High School. Cynthia was united in marriage to Robert David Mowat on April 9, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.
She worked at some local grocery stores, but her greatest job was raising her family. Cynthia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Herington and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed travelling on the Heartland Tours bus trips with friends, going to the Senior Center and her card club. One of Cynthia’s greatest joys was watching her grandchildren (and their dogs) and spending time with her family.
Cynthia is survived by her mother Florence White of Marion, children Suzi Ammann of Herington, Robert (Jennifer) Mowat of Galva, Jaime Potocnik of Lincolnville and Becky ( Richard Giroux) Mowat of Ramona; grandchildren Clayton Hughes, Kyler Ammann, Alexa Ammann, Madalynn Millspaugh, Trenton (Haley) Millspaugh, and Anthony Potocnik; great grandchildren Maci Kinser, Bryson Hughes, Ellie Hughes, and Addy Hughes. Cynthia passed away on Saturday March 16, 2024, at Salina Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family and Pastor.
She is preceded in death by her father Ward White, her husband Robert, brother Wes White and grandson Nick Kinser. Her family will gather with friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church led by Pastor Jaron Melin. She will be laid to rest in Mitchell Valley Cemetery next to her husband. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Herington American Legion Auxiliary or the Maci Kinser College Fund in care of Central National Bank.
