Crisetta Jo Middleton

Criss’s life began on September 20, 1952, in Council Grove. She was the daughter of Ross and Rosetta (Sorenson) Girton. Criss was united in marriage to James C. Middleton on June 4, 1971, at the First Baptist Church in Herington.

 She worked boarding animals and pet hotels, so she could live out her love for animals. Criss was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Woodbine United Methodist Church. Her love for animals was what she will most be remembered, and she enjoyed crocheting.

 Criss is survived by her children Todd (Tresea) Middleton of Hope, Tina (Aaron) Lauxman of Hope, and Kristina Middleton of Wichita; grandchildren Alissa (Tyler) Emery of Fountain, CO, Brian Lauxman of Hope, Nicole Middleton of Abilene, Todd Middleton of Hope, great grandchildren Amelia Emery, Nash Emery and Dax Emery; brother Kelly (Elaine) Girton of Sabetha, sister Holly (Tony) Daniel of Allen, TX, sister in law Gloria Hill of Salina and her fur baby CoCo.

 Criss passed away on Wednesday July 17, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two grandsons Nathan and Nicholas Middleton. Her family will gather with friends on Friday July 26, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington where her funeral service will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Woodbine Cemetery.
