Clara Mae Metcalfe

Council Grove - Clara Mae Metcalfe, age 81, passed away on Friday, April 22nd, at Diversicare of Council Grove.

She was an avid outdoors woman who absolutely loved fishing. Clara lived on a modest farm, with her husband Virgil, whom preceded her in death. She adored tending to the many animals she raised…bunnies, goats, chickens, geese, etc. Clara was a wonderful gardener growing anything and everything. Toward the end of her days on earth, battling cancer and congestive heart failure, she spent her time enjoying bird watching. Hours would be passed feeding her little flyers, chatting with them and enjoying their natural beauty. Needless to say, Clara’s afterlife will be filled with God’s creatures.

Clara is survived by her daughters, brothers, sister, grandchildren and great-grandchildren among other relatives.  When you live as long as she did, the news print would not be able to hold all of the many names of her relatives. Rest in peace Clara. You were loved here on earth and will be greatly missed.

At Clara’s request she was cremated.  A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
