Carolyn’s life began on October 24, 1935, at Axtell Hospital in Newton. She was the daughter of Ray A. and Lillian J. (Smith) Cave. Carolyn was a 1953 graduate of Whitewater High School and went on to get her associates degree after high school. 

She was united in marriage to Monte Wayne Fisher on May 27, 1956, at the Federated Church in Whitewater. Carolyn was a homemaker. She was active in the Federated Church, Kids Club, Girl Scouts, and the Whitewater Lion’s Club.

 Carolyn is survived by her children Deanna Miller of Valley Center, and Deborah (Jerry) Buttel of Whitewater, daughter in law Magda Fisher of Newton; grandchildren Matthew (Lauren) Miller, Michael (Michelle) Miller, and Jereb Buttel; great grandchildren Oliver and Ella Miller; her sister Marilyn Ghere and several nieces and nephews. 

Carolyn passed away at her home on Thursday January 16, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Monte, son Stephen Fisher, son in law Chuck Miller, and sister Sue Ellen Ash. 

Her family will gather with friends on Friday January 24, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at the Federated Church in Whitewater where her funeral service will be held on Saturday January 25, 2025, at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Whitewater Cemetery. Lamb Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorial contributions in Carolyn’s name may be directed to Federated Church or Whitewater Food Pantry.
