HERINGTON - Bruce Alan Beeton, of Herington, died Wednesday, July 27th, 2016, at his home in Herington. He was born on June 22nd, 1951. He is preceded in death by his father, Darrell R. Beeton, and his mother and step-father, Wilma J. (Richmond) and Kenneth Pigorsch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, Aug. 1st, 2016, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Herington, with Rev. Alan Stahlecker, officiating. The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM until time of service Monday, Aug. 1st, 2016, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. His wishes were to be cremated following the service.
He was a conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad retiring in 2009. He began working for the Rock Island Railroad in April 1970. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, was an avid fan of the Jayhawks. He liked grilling food in his backyard while listening to his classic rock and roll. He had an affinity for big dogs. He graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1969.
He is survived by a son Brooks Beeton (wife-Becky) of Lincolnville; daughters: Brea Beeton of West Monroe, LA, Jill Wright of Salina; his longtime companion Kim Crawford of Herington and her children Micheal Patterson, Ashley Johnson; a step-son Ryan Sullivan of Bossier City, LA; two step-daughters Elissa Cordle and Kelley Lowe of Salina; two brothers: Brad Pigorsch (wife-Casey) of Gypsum, Brent Pigorsch (wife-Jane) of Lincolnville; and 6 grandchildren: Brantin, Noah, Lillian, Carley, Mason, and David.
The family requests memorials to Hospice of Dickinson County or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; and may be sent in care of the Zeiner Funeral Home, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
