Brigitte Ursula Wendell

Brigitte’s life began on August 26, 1946, in Coburg, Germany. She was the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Truckenbrodt) Kieser. She was united in marriage to Max Wendell on December 27, 1993, at the Hope United Methodist Church.

 Brigitte was the owner of the Woodbine Café for over 30 years. She was an excellent cook and loved sharing her food with the surrounding community. Brigitte loved her Café and cooking for the surrounding area. When she was able to get away, she enjoyed her cabin at Herington Lake and tending to her large garden. She had been a member of the New Basel Church in rural Abilene.

 Brigitte is survived by her two sons Thomas Fechter of Herington and Marcus Fechter of Austin, TX: granddaughter Julia Fechter of Nuremburg, German and sister Ursel (Friedrich) Loh of Binzen, Germany.

 Brigitte passed away at her home on Saturday April 27, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers Harald and Rainer Kieser.

 Her family will gather with friends on Saturday May 4, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington. Her funeral service will be held on Sunday May 5, 2025 at 2 p.m. at  New Basel Church, Abilene. She will be laid to rest in Woodbine Cemetery.
