Bonnie Belle Roth

Bonnie’s life began on July 25, 1927, in Waynoka. OK. She was the daughter of Harry and Jewel (Wray) Durkee. Bonnie was a 1945 graduate of Waynoka High School and went on to nursing school in Wichita. She was united in marriage to Marvin Will during nursing school and they were married 40 years. Bonnie wed again to Thomas Roth on May 26, 1990, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Herington. She was a nurse’s aide for 52 years at the Herington Hospital. Bonnie loved to collect angels and had a deep and abiding faith in God. She and Thomas also loved to Polka dance and enjoyed many wonderful evenings dancing. She loved taking photos of family and friends. Bonnie was an amazing cook, and no one ever left her table hungry.  Her fried chicken was excellent and a recipe no one can match.  Bonnie was a faithful parishioner of St. John’s Catholic Church in Herington. She is survived by her husband Thomas Roth of Herington; children Steven Will of Omaha, Dennis (Sarah) Will of Chapman, and Sharon (Donald) Murphy of Topeka; grandsons Daniel (Jill) and David (Mandy) Will, step grandchildren Mike, Jeff, Michelle, and Peggy; seven great grandchildren and her brother Gary Durkee of Waynoka. Bonnie passed away on Monday January 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her angels. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin Will, six brothers and two sisters. Family and friends will gather on Monday January 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. for visitation, followed by Rosary prayers at 10:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., all at St. John’s Catholic Church, Herington. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorial contributions in Bonnie’s name may be directed to St. John’s Catholic Church.
