Billy’s life began on March 22, 1946, in Pascal, Washington. He is the son of Hershel and Gladys (Bristol) Alcorn.  He served his country in the United States Navy from 1963 until 1966, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal.  After leaving the service, Billy worked for the Wellington Fire Department, then he worked as a specialist engineer for City Service Gas and finally Williams Natural Gas until his retirement.  He was united in marriage to Rohani Alcorn on September 29, 1999, in Newton, Kansas.  Billy was a member of the Throttle Jockey Club.  His loving family includes his wife Rohani of Ramona; children Paul (Peggy) Alcorn of Ramona, Dana Alcorn of Wellington, and Ida Alcorn of Lawrence; grandchildren Shelby, Kylie, Caleb, Ashden, Jayden, Kindleigh, Christiana and Drake; half-brother Tom (Deniece) Richardson of Sedgwick; brother-in-law Noel Stoll of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.  Billy passed away on Sunday September 24, 2023, at the Robert J Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita.  He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Shelley, brother Donnie, brother Jerry and sister Helen. His family will gather with friends on Saturday September 30, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington.  His memorial service will be held at a later date in Sedgwick.  Memorial contributions in Billy’s name may be directed to Veteran Services at the Robert J Dole VA Medical Center in lieu of flowers.  Please sign his online guestbook and leave a memory of Billy at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
