Betty MacNaughton

   Betty Darlene MacNaughton, 88, passed away March 5, 2018, in Leawood, Kansas. She was born on March 21, 1929. Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the Marion, Kansas Cemetery.

 Betty was a homemaker and craftswoman. Born to Joseph and Vesta McIntosh, she was the youngest of 3 children.  She was born and raised in Canton, Kansas and then attended the University of Wichita, graduating summa cum laude with a major in zoology and chemistry. She also trained in medical technology at the University of Kansas and married her college sweetheart Dr. Robert A. MacNaughton. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and in her free time, she enjoyed crafting porcelain dolls and figurines, quilting, embroidery, and gardening.  Her husband Robert and her brother Bill McIntosh preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother Eugene McIntosh; her 3 children, Dr. Robert MacNaughton II, Paula Wiley, and Julie MacNaughton, as well as six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Betty was a cousin of Margie Schwartz of Marion.The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Premier Custom Care caregivers, especially Deanna, Beverly, Fey, Teresa, and Melissa who took excellent care of Mom.
