Barbara Anne O'Dell

Barbara Anne (Harbison) O’Dell, age 79 passed away Tuesday, December 22, at Newton Medical Center.

Barbara was born February 28, 1936 at Cottonwood Falls, Kansas the daughter of John and Margaret Stephenson Harbison.  She grew up and attended schools in the Clements community graduating from Clements High School.

On June 5, 1955 she was united in marriage to Delano O’Dell at Clements.  For many years they made their home in Florence and the last few years at Marion.  Barbara worked as a secretary first in banking and later for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Deborah, and her son Scott in 2012.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delano O’Dell, a son, Michael, a daughter, Dianne Burnett all of Marion; brothers, Howard Harbison of Muskogee, Oklahoma and John Harbison Jr. of Florence, Kansas; a sister, Margaret Callen of Salina; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation with family present Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.  The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, at the Hillcrest Cemetery at Florence, Kansas.

A memorial has been established with the Marion County Toy Run in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
