Averil Jean Henry

STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA - Averil Jean (Hawes) Henry, 87, passed away August 23, 2015, at Renaissance Assisted Living Center, Stillwater.  She was born near Benton, Kansas, on November 17, 1927, the daughter of William R. and Thurza (Claypool) Hawes.  She was a graduate of Whitewater High School and Kansas State University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics.  On June 8, 1952, she was united in marriage to Harold Dwight Henry.  They would make their home in Wichita until 2000, when they moved to be closer to children.  She is survived by her husband, Dwight of Stillwater, OK; her 3 daughters:  Mary Snyder of Dallas, TX; Carolyn Henry of Stillwater, OK; and Lora Holeman and husband Bill of Bronson, KS; 2 grandsons:  Will Holeman and Justin Holeman; both of Bronson, KS; a sister, Donice Kelly Pruitt of Lubbock, TX; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Yates and husband Larry of Wichita; KS.  All services will be held at Greenwich Road Church of Christ, with the funeral service being held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, and the visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow at Green Valley Cemetery of rural Furley.  Memorial Funds have been established for the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 South Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.
