Annette L. Schmid

HERINGTON - Annette L. Schmid, 76, formerly of Herington, died Monday, October 31st, 2016, at the Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.  She was born on August 25th, 1940, at Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Clyde W.  and Lois J.  (Frohardt) Albers. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, Nov. 4th, 2016, at the Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, with Rev. Bill Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery of Upland, KS, at 12:30 PM.  There will be a visitation with viewing at the funeral home preceding the services at 10:00 AM.

She was a transportation specialist of Personal Property and Passenger Dept. at Ft. Riley.  She retired from this position on September 1, 2000.  She was a member of EHU.  She attended Emporia State University and graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1958.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and sang in the choir.  She taught piano lessons.

She is preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Schmid-Fry on July 6, 2003, and by her parents.

She is survived by a daughter Denise Wilson of Herington; a brother Kenneth Albers of Chapman; a sister Jeanette Longhofer of Hutchinson; five grandchildren: Breann Fry, Dylan Wilson, Emmanuel Torres, Jayce Fry, Jeran Fry: and 1 great granddaughter: Anastaria Haynes.
