Alan P Delisle

Alan’s life began on October 2, 1977, in Akron, Ohio. He was the son of Paul Delisle and Judy Hunt. Alan was united in marriage to Naomi Langhofer on June 2, 2000, in Abilene. Throughout school, he was a talented athlete in basketball, football, track, and soccer. Alan entered the United States Army in 1995 and served as a reconnaissance sniper. He retired with honors from the Army in 2013 and made their home in Kansas. Alan enjoyed outings to the gun club in Salina and he could often be found working on his cars and enjoying his family and friends. He was often referred to as the dog whisperer by those close to him. Alan was united with Max, his service dog, in 2016 through Warrior’s Best Friend. He and Max are the prime example of a dog being a man’s best friend. Alan was known for offering a helping hand to anyone and everyone, especially his girls Hailey and Naomi. During his free time, Alan enjoyed spending time with his family, dogs, and close family friends. He is survived by his wife Naomi Delisle of Salina; daughter Hailey (Steven Solis) Delisle of Salina; his father Paul Delisle of Arizona; his mother Judy Hunt of Akron, OH; his mother-in-law Theresa Langhofer of Kansas; father-in-law Gavin Langhofer; siblings Jodi Grubb of Ohio, Mark Delisle of Florida, Sara Delisle of Ohio, and Anne Wright of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Alan passed away on Monday February 17, 2025, at Salina Regional Hospital. His family will gather with friends on Friday February 21, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington where his funeral service will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025, at 3 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contribution in Alan’s name may be directed to Warrior’s Best Friends (P.O. Box 1432; Liberty, MO. 64069). Please sign his guestbook and leave a memory of Alan at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
