Alan’s life began on September 5, 1930, in Osage City, KS. He was the son of Manuel and Helen Coxen. Alan was united in marriage to the former Donna J. Dyck on July 7, 1954, in McPherson. He is a graduate of Kansas University and served his country in the United States Army. Alan was a geological engineer for Phillips Petroleum prior to retiring and moving to Marion Co. Lake. He is survived by his children Donald (Melissa) Coxen of Tuttle, OK, Alane (David) Brumbaugh of Bartlesville, OK and Andra (Daniel) Johnson of Booneville, AR; three grandchildren and sisters Lela Prine of Osage City and Alice (Jim) Caton of Rossville, KS. Alan passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2022, at Salem Home in Hillsboro. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Donna. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Alan’s life on Friday, April 15th at 2 p.m. at the Marion Cemetery. Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion is serving the family. Memorial contributions in Alan’s name may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
