James Lee Anderson

James (Jim) Anderson was born on February 6, 1932 in Hope KS to Albert Roy and Ida Olive. He grew up in Hope along side his sister Dorothy.

He married Marilyn on September 21, 1952. They worked the family farm while growing in their faith and community.

In their later years, they enjoyed traveling near and far. It was not unusual to find him skiing down a mountain top and then planning his next adventure. Later in life he became quite the peanut brittle expert sharing pounds of the sweet treat every year.

He was very devoted in his faith, leading men's groups in his home and being a listening ear for anyone that needed him. He specifically found comfort and wisdom in Romans 8:28.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Abilene; son Mark (Betty) Anderson of Pratt; daughters Janice Anderson (Gary Dewing) of St. Paul MN;

Renee Anderson ( Chris Gearhart) of Atchison; 7 grandchildren Mae Myers of Boise ID; Rachel Bishop of Des Moines WA; Beth Ward of Boise ID; Dylan (Kylie) Anderson of Wichita; Drew ( Alyssa) Anderson of Wichita; Elizabeth (Daniel) Nadeau of Topeka and Colby Fincham;

He found tremendous joy in his great grandchildren and was excited to welcome number eight this fall.

Services will be held at 11am Friday, October 2 at the First Baptist Church in Durham, Kansas. Memorial donations can be made out in James's name to Dickinson County Home Health and Hospice. Please take a moment and leave a memory on James's online guest book.
